Lately I’ve been feeling like young David in the heated political battle for NYC parks. You see, on weekends I set up a stand on Union Square with my printed works to sell. It’s a privilege we share thanks to our first amendment. Now the Goliath that is government, specifically M. Bloomberg and park’s commissioner Adrian Benepe are out to get us. They are coordinating unconstitutional strategies to get artist out of the parks and privatize the public spaces we normally use in an attempt to profit from the traffic we have attracted into these areas. It’s time we rise and take this Goliath down.
