Kevin the trouble maker

Kevin J. Carroll is an extremely interesting man who discovered writing to be one of his best instruments against his almost 3 decade long heroine addiction. Sixteen years later he’s clean and has written an autobiography that chronicles his hilarious adolescent years as a bad boy in a Bronx catholic school, his troubled teen years of experimentation where he met his wife and on through his life as junkie. He recounted to me just a few of the stories that populate his manuscript and I can’t wait for a chance to read it.

Kevin commissioned me for a painting that would attempt to capture some of the shock one would get from reading his book. He imagined Sister Marion, a nun from his time in catholic school over 50 years ago, with a double barrel shotgun to his head while he daydreams of dropping bombs on the school. See the full image in the Illustrations Gallery.

The book is currently unpublished, but I have good faith that soon will change.
