Description
For LOLO’S ART BOOK I have selected over 150 key pieces from my portfolio. The book will have 100 full color pages in a large 8.5″x11″ perfect bound book format.
Also, I’ve written some of my insights on design and storytelling, experiences and anecdotes from working as an artist, my thoughts on modern culture, marriage, faith, and civilization. In all it’s about 5,000 words, and adds some dimension and background to the art on the pages.

BEAUTIFUL! GORGEOUS! Lolo has a way of capturing the curves and gestures of the human body that tells a story onto itself. His dominion of light and color brings a depth to all types of landscapes, creatures, mech/robots, angels and demons. When I purchased this book I was pleasantly surprised to see some great works that he hadn’t posted elsewhere. Included are some early sketches for some of his work, for example. As an art enthusiast I was happy to get a peek behind the scenes. The added written parts gave some nice background to some of the paintings displayed, although if I’m honest I would’ve loved to hear more about his process and approach with some of these. They’re just stunning. These text companion paragraphs also help us to get a better idea of Lolo’s philosophy of life and work experiences, something that definitely puts his artistic choices in perspective. If you love beautiful fantasy art, expert draftsmanship and dark emotive painterly colors then you NEED to get this book now.

I just finished a visual, literary journey through, “Lolo’s Art Book”, a collection of the art of Manuel Guzman. His stylistic imagery runs an artistic gambit from the fantastic to classical, from devil to Messiah and more. To say he is a talented artist would be an understatement but take time to read all of the commentary included with the art. Lolo has the ability to connect the shadowy realm of storytelling to the tangible real world we live in.
His art work linked to his written text is spellbinding, combining biblical art, for example with connecting scripture delivers hope to the believer and caution to the skeptic who has yet to discover the concept of grace. He balances our 21-century human condition against God, the master designers, original designs, touching on the sanctity of marriage vs the emotional disconnect of AI.
“Lolo’s Art Book”. Is a treasure waiting to be discovered. I highly recommend it.
